What if dignity could be built into something as simple as a jar of coconut oil? In this episode of Conversation of Change, we sit down with Erik Olson, founder of Dignity Made, to uncover a story that goes far beyond business.

Coconut oil, in many markets, is seen as a commodity. But through Dignity Made’s approach, its value is redefined. By reworking traditional processes and introducing more sustainable and ethical production methods, the organisation ensures that farmers and workers are fairly compensated and supported. This shift not only improves product quality but also strengthens the entire ecosystem behind it.

There’s one detail about Dignity Made that captures its mission in the simplest, yet most powerful way: Every 15oz jar and 1 gallon pail is signed by the person who bottled it.

Behind every jar, is a face. And behind every face, is a story. This intentional act transforms a product into something deeply human. It removes anonymity from the supply chain and reminds us that every purchase is connected to a real person, livelihood, journey.

More importantly, it reframes the question from “What is this product worth?”  to “Who does this product impact?”
