UI/UX Website Design

This module allows students to explore and embark on their creative journey to discover and cultivate what it takes to become a successful visual communication designer. Students will learn the importance of how integrating basic design elements, principles of design, visual composition, and relationships to identify and resolve visual problems. Specifically, this module focuses on the design process, function, exploration of various media, graphical experimentation, and theoretical and practical visual communication design skills. This module aims to provide students with an insightful experience on the role of visual communication design, purpose, function, process, and contemporary practices of visual communication.

Designed to equip our participants with essential IT skills and know-how to create websites. This module will equip students with fundamental skills in coding and HTML.

During this module, the students will learn:

• The functions of web languages and elements

• The process of web hosting

• The design for user and screen conventions

• HTML: Organization of page content

• Application of typography for web

• Website domain, hosting, and FTP

Over 64 million active websites currently use a content management system (CMS). With a CMS, users can create websites and manage their content without having to code website elements from scratch. However, creating a website on the wrong CMS platform will only make the process more difficult.

This module will empower students to learn how to use the most popular platform for website development.

Over 42% of all websites use WordPress, making it the most popular CMS platform. WordPress is an open-source software known for its flexibility and scalability. The other CMS platform that will be covered is Wix, a visual-friendly website design CMS platform.

At the end of this module, participants will have their websites that will be hosted on MTC servers.

Everything a designer does affects the user experience. From the addition of bold lines, or the omitting of a pop-up box, there is no such thing as ‘non-communication’. Since one of the primary roles of a designer is to successfully communicate an intended message, the best way to reach their target audience is by properly designing and curating a perfect user experience. In this module, students will learn, understand and apply the best methods to curate a wonderful user experience on their websites.
