Internship Experience - Anglo-Chinese School Independent (ACSI)

This January, we were thrilled to welcome Gracia, an energetic student from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), for a two-week internship under our Young Changemaker Programme at Make The Change. From her 1st day, Gracia stepped into our office with curiosity and a passionate drive, turning her short time with us into a journey filled with personal growth, teamwork, and meaningful community impact. During her internship, Gracia quickly dove into the operational side of social impact work by supporting the New Media Youth Challenge. Tasked with vetting and tallying video submissions across Secondary, JC, Poly and ITE categories, she meticulously ensured the entries met our competition guidelines while tracking overall numbers. Beyond keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, this task sharpened her attention to detail and gave her a firsthand look at what goes into managing large-scale youth media inititatives.
Other than that, collaborating with her fellow interns Aarya and Zachary, Gracia also explored the intersection of technology and storytelling using AR Makr — a software that enables users to creative interactive augmented reality experiences.
Together, the team conceptualized and produced an educational video introducing Singapore's Founding Fathers for primary school students. By integrating dynamic animations, vibrant visual elements, and interactive augmented reality features, Gracia helped transform historical content into a fun, engaging, and memorable learning experience for young minds.
Taking her learning a step further, Gracia spearheaded independent research on Yishun Strong, a local ground-up community initiative based in Yishun that is dedicated to uplifting residents through volunteerism and social support efforts. After analyzing their mission, key projects, and community impact, she thoughtfully crafted insightful interview questions to prepare for an upcoming feature episode on our Make The Change's podcast channel, Conversation of Change. Her thorough prep and research paved the way for a compelling dialogue on grassroots change-making.
Gracia’s Reflection
“ The past two weeks have been a truly transformative experience. I arrived on the first day unsure of what to expect and not knowing anyone. I now am leaving with a close-knit group of friends, and invaluable lessons I will carry with me as I step into the working world. ”

Throughout her internship with us at Make The Change, Gracia consistently demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a genuine heart for learning. We are proud of everything she accomplished during her time at MTC, and we are excited to see where her journey takes her next, and we hope her story continue to inspire more youths to step forward and create positive change with us!
