Internship Experience - Maris Stella High School

In January 2026, we had the privilege of welcoming Zachary, a student from Maris Stella High School, for a two-week internship under our Young Changemaker Programme. Over the course of his time with us at Make The Change (MTC), Zachary brought a vibrant energy, eagerness to learn, and a genuine drive to contribute to our ongoing social impact projects.

Zachary kicked off his internship with our Digital Arts For All (DAFA) initiative. Tasked with designing digital thank-you cards, he carefully blended thoughtful messages with eye-catching visual elements to create personal, heartfelt tokens of appreciation for every recipient. Beyond sharpening his digital design skills, the project served as a gentle reminder of how small, intentional acts of kindness can create a ripple effect of positivity across a community. Shifting gears from digital design to media production, Zachary collaborated with his fellow interns, Gracia from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), and Aarya from Temasek Secondary School to produce an educational video showcasing Singapore's Founding Fathers. Zachary took ownership of the segment on Dr. Goh Keng Swee, crafting the script before stepping behind the camera to handle filming and video editing. Designing content specifically for primary school students required a balance of educational detail and engaging storytelling was a challenge that Zachary navigated with his impressive creativity. The expereince helped him to refine his technical production skills while discovering how complex historical narratives can be transformed into fun, digestible content for young minds!

Zachary’s journey with us at Make The Change demonstrates how curiousity, teamwork, and initiative enable young people to make meaningful contributions to society. We are proud of his growth over these two weeks and look forward to seeing how he continues to use his skills to shape positive change!
